Abstract

The Community Service Program (KKN) in Sukamukti Village, Majalaya District, Bandung Regency was carried out to improve chili cultivation as an effort to empower the local community's economy. The main objective of this service is to encourage the production of quality chili peppers, given the high demand of the community and UMKM players. The activity process includes field observations, socialization with the community, and monitoring of plant care, which involves various target groups such as families, UMKM business actors, and family heads. Observation and analysis methods are carried out by collecting data from interviews and direct observation in the field. Outcomes measured include improved knowledge and skills in chili cultivation as well as the quality of the crop produced. Key findings showed a 30% increase in chili yields and improved understanding of plant care among 75% of the farmers involved. The main conclusion of this activity is that community involvement in chili cultivation programs not only increases agricultural yields, but also strengthens the local economy and builds better collaboration between farmers and business actors. This observation confirms the importance of participatory approaches in community empowerment as a sustainable solution to economic problems in the village.
